Electrician Position

PPI is looking for additional 2 electricians for work at Eraring Power Station. The work will start in July 2011. The duration of the work depends on the specific work crew and the amount of work, but could be for up to 12 months duration.

The work involves maintenance and upgrade work on Eraring Power Station equipment, particularly on the boilers. Working hours are expected to be approximately 57 hours per week during the shutdown period. Some employees will be required to work nightshift. The work typically involves repair of power tools, leads, lights and welding machines, inspection and tagging of electrical equipment, fault-finding, installation and modification of temporary power supplies and boards, and repairs to MP&L.

The pay rate for this position (after July 1st) is $38.98 per hour for casual employees, with overtime or shift penalties payable as applicable under the Metal Industry Award.
